About movie:
The parents of Kuki, Filip and Toska are always there when their kids need them. Even if this means that they have to give a concert at a street market. Their mother is scared that they’ll be pelted with tomatoes, and especially worried that they’ll meet her ambitious sister. On the way to the party a red chair suddenly falls on to the roof of their car. The wood comes from a magic tree, which means that if you make a wish when sitting on the chair, the wish will come true. It takes a while before the children understand this. Otherwise they would have stopped their aunt, who they indeed meet at the party, from sitting on the chair. She wishes that their parents go off for a year to work on a cruise ship. Even worse: that they, the children, come to stay with her during that period. The children only discover how to break the spell when the damage has been done. The special chair is in the hands of Augostino, the greedy market boss. As soon as the children come to collect it he understands how valuable it is. While the children go off in search of their parents, they are thwarted by their embittered aunt and by Augostino, who is moving on feathered stilts and is therefore very fast. Happily the children have the chair, which means they can make all kinds of magic wishes. Such as an extremely long water chute that takes them to their parent’s ship. In Poland it is rare that children’s films are made on this scale. The Magic Tree is a dynamic combination of live action and animation, an adventure that perfectly matches the perception that children have of their environment. The director also made a seven episode series with the same title, which won several international prizes including an Emmy Award in 2007. [source]
